A year of innovative e-learning

In 2010, more than 140 E-learning Innovations projects across Australia developed innovative e-learning training solutions for the vocational education and training (VET) system.

Led by registered training organisations (RTOs) and funded and supported by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, the projects focused on embedding e-learning in workplaces and addressing the needs of identified learner groups, providing greater choice in what, where and how they learn.

The projects explored the educational applications of technologies including virtual worlds, e-assessment, mobile technologies and game consoles. Learner groups targeted included apprentices and trainees, learners with English as a second language, Indigenous learners, mature age workers and geographically isolated learners.

The 2011 E-learning Innovations projects have been selected and are underway.
