Tim Shipstone

Mr Tim Shipstone is an industrial officer with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), with responsibility for skills, migration and industrial relations policy issues.
Tim was appointed to the National Quality Council in March 2010, and he is currently the ACTU representative on the Apprenticeships for the 21st Century Expert Panel, the Critical Skills Investment Fund Advisory Board, and the Workforce Development, Supply and Demand Principal Committee of the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment.
Prior to joining the ACTU, Tim Shipstone worked for 15 years in policy roles at both federal and state government levels. He was involved in the development of the Australian Government’s Fair Work legislation with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. Tim also worked on vocational education and skills projects for the New South Wales Department of Education and Training.
